Industry 4.0 is a high-tech strategic plan proposed by the German government. So what happened in the process from Industry 1.0 to 4.0? We use time development, and each stage of the technical characteristics of the view, analysis. In fact, industry 1.0 to 4.0 refers to the first industrial revolution, the second industrial revolution, the third industrial revolution and the fourth industrial revolution respectively.

Industry 1.0 (First Industrial Revolution)

Date: Industry 1.0 was the age of mechanical manufacturing, around the 1760s to the middle of the 19th century.

Features: The mechanization of the plant is realized by hydraulic and steam engines. As a result of this industrial revolution, manual labor was replaced by mechanical production, and the economy and society were transformed from being based on agriculture and handicraft industry to a new model of economic development driven by industry and machine manufacturing. There was no concept of automatic electrical control of machinery at that time.

Industry 2.0 (Second Industrial Revolution)

Timing: Industry 2.0 was the age of electrification and automation, roughly from the second half of the 19th century to the early 20th century.

Features: that is, on the basis of the division of labor, the large-scale production of electrically driven products; Because of the electricity, so it entered the era of the production of mechanical equipment by relays, electrical automation control. This industrial revolution, through the successful separation of parts production and product assembly, created a new and efficient model of mass production of products.

Industry 3.0 (Third Industrial Revolution)

Time: Industry 3.0 is the electronic information age, which began in the 1970s and continues to the present information age.

Features: on the basis of upgrading industry 2.0, electronic and information technology is widely used to further improve the automation control degree of manufacturing process. Production efficiency, yield, division of labor and cooperation, the life of machinery and equipment have been unprecedented improved. At this stage, a large number of factories by the PC, PLC/ SCM and other real electronic, information technology automation control of mechanical equipment for production. Since then, machines have been able to gradually replace human work, taking over not only a considerable proportion of "manual labor", but also some "mental labor".

Industry 4.0 (Fourth Industrial Revolution)

Time: The time of Industry 4.0 is vague. In July 2010, the German government adopted the "High Technology Strategy 2020", which identified industry as one of the ten future projects. Up to now, the achievements of Industry 4.0 do not cover the scale of Industry 3.0. We are now in a transition period from Industry 3.0 to Industry 4.0.

Features: In the High Technology Strategy 2020, the German government wants to automate production to the maximum extent possible over the next 10-15 years. Internet of things technology and big data assume the core technical support in Industry 4.0, and more and more robots will replace manual labor, or even completely replace it, realizing "unmanned factory".
